How Do Cleansing Detox Foot Pads Work?

Almost everyone has seen the commercials on television for cleansing detox foot pads. Most everyone also questions just how they work, and better yet, “if” they work. The first question is easily answered by listening to the advertisements and looking at photos of before and after use of the cleansing foot pads. It is stated that the pads work by drawing toxins out of the body. You attach the pads to the soles of your feet while you sleep. The cleansing detox foot pads are then suppose to work during the night to draw out wastes and toxins that may be in your body. The idea of the foot pads is said to come from an old Japanese legend that states that certain plant extracts applied to the feet can draw illness away from the body through the feet.

Detox foot padsMost, but not all, of the cleansing detox foot pads claim to use components such as infared radiation that can extract bad molecules from the body using tiny amounts of acupuncture meridians. It is stated that these meridians connect to body organs through the feet.

Individuals that have used the product state that when they remove the foot pads from their feet in the morning after wearing them all night while sleeping, they notice that the pads are very discolored. The manufacturer’s claim that this is proof that the foot pads are slowly drawing out toxins from the body. Sceptics believe that it is actually the ingredients that are used in the foot pads that make the pads turn different shades of many colors. Many plant extracts will change color once they hit fresh air.

Consumers would like a straight forward answer as to whether or not the cleansing detox foot pads truly work to draw toxins and poisons from the body. The verdict to that question is still out. Some state that there is no proof that these foot pads work, while others swear by them. It’s always a good idea to find out as much information as you can on any new product that you are considering buying.

There is said to be one fairly scientific study that did show that the foot pads contained traces of mercury, nickel and arsenic after being worn for two nights in a row by the same individual. This same study stated that the scientists involved in the testing had tested hairs for toxins from the subjects involved in the test. They stated that the amount of toxins discovered in the hair follicles were lowered after using the cleansing detox foot pads.

It is stated that scientists in Japan have done extended research on the benefits of the foot pads which included testing the pads to see if they helped with circulation. They also tested the foot pads to see if they increased brain wave activity, which they stated was positive.

It is said that the key to purchasing quality cleansing detox foot pads is to be sure the brand purchased is not a cheaper form or fake. Many of these often times actually have dangerous ingredients that can do more harm than good.
