You can't help but live greener when you're preparing a meal in a hemp apron. The hemp grown to make this apron was grown and processed without the use of
chemicals or pesticides of any kind. Hemp Organic Aprons have on oversized pocket on the right side of this classic bib apron. They come in two colors Green and wine and are offered in two version a short style and a long style. Hand-picked organically grown cotton, and dyed with safe environmentally-friendly dyes. This cotton is free of all synthetic fertilizers pesticides, and herbicides. By supporting organic agriculture, you are helping to create a healthier and more sustainable world for all of us.

Hemp, the “standing silent nation” as the Lakotas call it, has tens of thousands of uses, from superior textiles and cosmetics to biodegradable plastics. It is environmentally friendly, requiring no pesticides, little water and fertilizer and no herbicides. It controls erosion, produces huge amounts of biomass and oxygen, and replaces trees in making not just paper products, but building materials.

The day will come very soon when hemp will become as common as other natural resources. We who understand this and try our best by becoming activist and writing our political leaders. By demanding action to right this wrong we are not only helping humanity we are helping ourselves. Hemp makes common sense but for economic reasons too and environmental reasons HEMP IS GOOD FOR US AND OUR COUNTRY.

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing re olive oil. Would like to know.
Beginning with my personal health is a priority with me, so the info was a great help. I will take the list with me next time I grocery shop.
It was a great help to be reminded by Organic Trade that there is a bigger picture to not forget about. I thank both of you.

I like to buy organic food for health reasons but have a limted budget, so its was an interesting read.

I'm suspicious of things like olive oil and nuts. My family grows them in Portugal and never have needed to spray the trees. Isn't it the case that most Olive Oil and nuts will be organic?

OT, point taken. As you can probably tell from the article, my focus was on personal health - but you do bring up a good point! Thanks!

You raise some interesting points about when to buy organic. However, the Organic Trade Association would caution people against the idea of limiting their organic purchases to the list of items you outline in this blog. While establishing such limits may help to reduce the size of your personal food budget, it misses an important point: buying organic is about more than keeping pesticides out of our bodies. It is about supporting a system of sustainable agricultural management that promotes soil health and fertility through the use of such methods as crop rotation and cover cropping, which nourish plants, foster species diversity, help combat climate change, prevent damage to valuable water resources, and protect farmers and farmers’ families from exposure to harmful chemicals. In this sense, buying organic is a commitment to the bigger, more complex picture of which our personal health is a part.
