Benefits of Eating Strawberries

Strawberries are full of antioxidants and phytonutrients. The ruby red hue of strawberries is caused by anthocyanins and they are a powerful antioxidant that aids in the protection of the cell structures within your body. The phenol contained in strawberries also makes them heart friendly. It also aids in fighting certain cancers and also has anti-inflammatory properties.

There is also a substance called ellagitannin in a strawberry and it is said to reduce the rate of fatality in certain cancers. A study was done that showed that those people that ate the most strawberries were said to have a less of a chance to develop certain cancers than those that ate few or no strawberries at all.

So the next time you are craving a sweet treat, look no further than the pretty, sweet strawberry that will benefit your health and tickle your taste buds.
